Colour Me Human (2015)
‘Colour Me Human’ – a multimedia theatre production – is a story celebrating every human beings shared and collective humanity.
Whatever our different cultures, belief systems, spiritualities and various perceptions of creation, at the core we are all connected. There is no us and them, only us.
Emotions that shape who we are are not colour conscious but feelings common to us all.
In our fractured past and present, ‘Colour Me Human’ is an uplifting and layered theatre experience told through sound, movement and visuals. The music is a wide and undefinable soudscape composed by Steve Dyer including a stirring arrangement of Makubenjalo (let it be).
Choreography is by the creative duo of Sonia Radebe and Nhlanhla Mahlangu who trace various rituals around key stages in our lives. Theatre director likens the ebb and flow of ‘Colour Me Human’ to a pulsing heartbeat.
Talented soloists include young Zimbabwean songstress Ammara Brown and dynamic opera star Ann Masina.
